Kutonotuk wins 2nd prize at the Central Glass International Competition after presenting their entry at the UIA Congress in Tokyo. The jury included Kengo Kuma, Hiroshi Naito, Taro Ashihara, and members from the Central Glass Co. Ltd, headed by Riken Yamamoto.

MATTHEW JULL COLLABORATES WITH MIT SENSEABLE CITY LAB
As an Urban Research Fellow at the MIT SENSEable City Lab, Matthew Jull co-authors a paper with Carlo Ratti, "Urban Ritual in Rome: Characterizing the City with High-Resolution Cell Phone Data". The work provides an opportunity to study and characterize the dynamics of life in a large, complex city - and is presented at the SIG CHI Workshop in San Jose.

LEENA CHO WINS EUROPAN 11 VIENNA
Impressively Simple returns from the Europan 11 ceremony and exhibition in Linz, AT as well from the first kick-off meeting with the Dept. of City Planning in Vienna! The proposal of Dreiecksplatz won the unanimously voted First Prize for Europan 11 in Vienna, Austria, announced in December 2011.

Matthew Jull and Leena Cho visit the northernmost city in the USA - Barrow, Alaska. Their research on the arctic landscape and urbanism is funded by two grants from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

LEIDSCHE RIJN PUBLISHED IN TOPOS 77
The masterplan of Leidsche Rijn was launched more than 15 years ago by a process manager trained in landscape architecture and horticulture, Riek Bakker, with Rients Dijkstra of Maxwan as lead masterplanner. It is the largest single urban-planning project in Dutch history to date, aiming to build over 30,000 new houses on the 2,500-hectare VINEX site.
